Team background

The ALLIANCE-B team is composed by 3 associate professors (TU), 2 postdocs and 3 PhD candidates and several master and undergraduate students. The PhD candidates are in their 2nd and 3rd year and so their dissertations will take place long before ALLIANCE project is finished.

During the last 10 years, the researchers of the Optical Communications group (GCO) participating in ALLIANCE-B have been involved in a significant number of European (FP6, FP7 and H2020) and Spanish national projects. Moreover, they have established research collaborations with leading reasearch groups in the telecom/data centre sector. Among them:

  • European research projects of the H2020: SLICENET (active), ONFIRE (active)
  • European research projects of the FP7: COSIGN, LIGHTNESS, PRISTINE, EULER, STRONGEST, DICONET, NoE BONE
  • European research projects of the FP6: NOBEL 2, NoE ePhoton/One+, NOBEL, etc.
  • National projects: SUNSET-A (TEC2014-59583-C2-1-R, )ELASTIC (TEC2011-27310), ENGINE (TEC2008-02634), etc.

Besides, ALLIANCE-B members have authored a long publication record in leading JCR-ranked journals and magazines on the topics related to ALLIANCE-B.
